Public consultation on the draft ECB Regulation on infringement procedures in cases of non-compliance with statistical reporting requirements and repealing Decision (ECB/2010/10)

The European Central Bank (ECB) has finalised its review of the ECB Regulation on infringement procedures in cases of non-compliance with statistical reporting requirements and repealing Decision (ECB/2010/10).

The reviewed Regulation, published on 10 October 2022, establishes a harmonised framework for monitoring compliance with statistical reporting requirements, across different statistical domains and reporting frequencies and assessing procedures for alleged infringements in cases of non-compliance. This ensures transparency and the equal treatment of reporting agents. The revised Regulation also clearly defines the roles of all stakeholders involved in the process and the responsibilities among competent authorities when assessing an infringement procedure.

The draft ECB Regulation underwent a public consultation from 23rd June to 4th of September 2021 after the European Parliament was informed in June 2021.

During this process comments were received from one interested party. A general assessment of these comments was prepared, and they were given the greatest possible consideration.
