New Guideline of the ECB concerning Eurosystem reporting requirements and procedures in the field of money and banking statistics
10 February 2003
The European Central Bank (ECB) will today release a Guideline [pdf 1666 kB] concerning certain statistical reporting requirements of the ECB and the procedures for reporting by the national central banks of statistical information in the field of money and banking statistics.
This Guideline, which was adopted by the Governing Council of the ECB on 6 February 2003, defines and organises the exchange of the relevant statistical information within the Eurosystem. It enters into force tomorrow and replaces Guideline ECB/2002/5 of 30 July 2002.
Among other things, the new Guideline governs the reporting of supplementary data on structural indicators of EU banking developments. Moreover, appropriate references to the new ECB Regulations on MFI balance sheet statistics (ECB/2001/13) and MFI interest rate statistics (ECB/2001/18) have been inserted.
The Guideline will be available in English on the ECB's website as from 3 p.m. ECB time (C.E.T.) and in the other official Community languages in due course. Upon finalisation of the translations it will also be published in the Official Journal of the European Union. Copies of the printed version will be available free of charge and can be ordered in writing from the ECB's Press and Information Division (Fax: +49 69 1344 7404).
