Janice Eberly

Biography

Janice Eberly is the James R. and Helen D. Russell Professor of Finance at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Professor Eberly received her PhD in Economics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She served as the Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy at the U.S. Treasury Department from 2011 to 2013. She has served on the editorial boards of the American Economic Review and the Journal of Monetary Economics, and is currently editor of the Brookings Papers on Economic Activity. She has been a Sloan Research Fellow and a member of the Executive Committee of the American Economic Association, and is a fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Professor Eberly’s research focuses on finance and macroeconomics, including portfolio choice, investment, credit and housing. Her work has been published in major academic journals, including Econometrica, the American Economic Review, and the Journal of Political Economy.
