Die irische Regierung entschied sich für ein einziges Motiv auf allen irischen Euro-Münzen. Es zeigt die keltische Harfe als traditionelles Symbol für Irland, kombiniert mit dem Ausgabejahr und dem irischen Wort für Irland – „Éire“. Das Harfenmotiv wurde von Jarlath Hayes entworfen.
